Simming Day in July 2011

Austin, Kassie and Kyah were out swimming in our tiny swimming pool on July 2nd! Even though it was small they still had a blast. Kyah kept peaking over the edge to see me, it was hilarious. As you can see they were having a blast!!!

Kassie is 12, even though she looks alot older. She is so beautiful and Kind!
Look they actually look like they like each other! They are so Beautiful!!!
Jessica at 14 Years Old.
Austin was goofing off with this picture, but it turned out so well. He is adorable! Austin is 9.

These are some of my favorite pics.

It was quite difficult to get a good pic of Kyah but we finally accomplished it. Kyah is 2 yrs here.

Grey Hair! 8-31-2010

As August wraps up, I find myself thinking alot about my upcoming birthday. Why? Because I am turning the big 40. Now, I am not handling this very well at all. When I turned 30 it was not a big deal to me and I pretty much told myslef that I would not be one of those people who care about my age. I would age gracefully!!! I lied!!! I did it is true! I do not want to get any older! 40 is a scary age!
Then the last two days I have been telling myself to get over it, it is only 40, I still have alot of life left! I have my health, my kids, my husband, and look at all my blessings!! I had myself convinced that it was fine, I could bring in the year 40 with no problem! Then I looked in the mirror this morning, it was not good, there on the top of my head was this SHINEY GREY HAIR! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! I PULLED IT OUT QUICKLY BEFORE ANYONE COULD SEE IT!!! HOW DID IT GET THERE? I AM SURE SOMEONE DYED IT WHILE I WAS SLEEPING FOR A PRACTICAL JOKE! WHO EVER IT WAS YOU NEED TO COME FORWARD, NOW!!!!

First Day of School August 30th

Yesterday was the first day of school for the year 2010/2011. I have had mixed feelings about this. As the day began, and I dragged myself out of my bed (because I was up helping Jess finish her summer Honors English homework that was due the first day of school) and crawled to the shower I was not looking forward to the morning. I quickly showered and got ready before the kids started to wake up. Kassie was first to come up the stairs all excited and very nervous. She had been worrying about going back to school for the last week. Now if you know Kassie you know that this consisted of ALOT of questions!! Well, Monday morning was not exception, but I believe the questions doubled! I finally had to tell her that I could not answer any more questions. I asked her if she would like me to take her to school because I had taken the morning off of work. Now deep down I was hoping she would say yes, but not quite sure that she would. She of course said yes and so I was jumping for joy inside. Now, even though inside I was glad that I would be able to go in with her I knew at some point I would have to leave her there, all alone, in 7th grade, just her, by herself. Who said this is harder on the kids then the parents anyway? So I walked her in to the school and walked up the stairs to her locker and of course she started to see all of her friends that she hung out with and that was it.....She turned to me and said "Mom, I am okay, you can go. Well that was short lived!!!!
Jessica was the next one up, she was very bubbly, and if you know Jessica at all you know this is not a normal thing in the morning! Of course it had nothing to do with school, it was all about seeing her friends and talking to them. Can you say social butterfly!!! So I posed the same question to her "Do you want me to take you to school?" She said "sure that would be great" again I was over joyed!! She was going to let me walk her in to High School on her first day of 9th grade...and then she continued....I would love a ride to school. So, I said you do not want me to walk you in?? She said No I will be fine! Shot down just like that! I do not think I am ready for High school! So, I dropped her off in front of the high school and watched her walk to the front doors and the whole time my eyes are watering!!! Where did the time go? And why does it continue to move faster?
Then there is Austin, sweet, patient, kind, Austin. He was all about getting back to school and hanging with his friends. He was a little nervous about having a new teacher and meeting the new kids in his class but for the most part very excited about going back. And yes of course he let me drop him off and walk him to his class room!! I think I better enjoy it while it lasts!! When he called me to tell me he got home fine. I asked how it day was and his statement was "GREAT"!
Kyah was so excited to go back to the babysitters. Her name is Stephanie and she does a great job. They have a dog name MR. Kyah loves this dog! She could not wait for morning to come so she could go and spend time with MR. She even told me she liked MR more then me. So I dropped her off and she looked at me and said "bye mommy" and that was that! When she came home she was glad to see me. But boy was she tired. I snuggled with her for a few minutes and then she wanted to watch Dora and lay in her spot on the couch. 5 minutes later I walked over to her to see how she was doing and she was asleep. Out like a light! There was no waking her up and it was only 6pm!! She slept all night except for about an hour around 7 when she got up to eat, then she went right back to bed. I hope it is not like this all the time. I will not get to see her.
As you might be guessing at this time I was a wreck! I pulled out of town heading toward BYUI to go to work, and started crying! I cried all the way to work, what a mess I was! I cannot believe how time flies.
I guess my advise would be to hold on to every moment that you have with your kids. Write it down and spend every possible moment with them. I can see the future sneaking up on me and I do not like it. Before I know it Jess with be out of the house and then Kass. I need to not worry about how messy my house is and what has to be done....because in theory it can all wait! The laundry is not going any where and the mess in my house is just from living our life!!! So you are welcome to come into my home, please do, but remember if it is a mess it is because I have chosen to spend my time with my family and not cleaning! Cleaning will come later!!!

Look to the Children

Last night I was laying downstairs in Kyah's and my bedroom after we had just said our prayers and were almost asleep when she started saying "Heavenly Father, Heavenly Father, Heavenly Father" and I sat up and said to her "What about Heavenly Father" and she replied
"I love Heavenly Father" my heart swelled and the spirit testified to me of the love in her words.
The lesson is, while reading your scriptures, praying and going to church is a great way to strengthen your testimony, when the time comes to be truly uplifted look to the children, they are closer to god then we know.
Love,
Jessica

Hop Scotch

Kyah loves to play colors (sidewalk chalk). We are outside alot drawing flowers, bugs, animals, etc. on our porch. I had an idea to draw a hop scotch on the driveway. Austin and I started playing and Kyah joined right in. It was so stinking cute how she hopped up and back and then picked up her rock that was marking her spot. The whole time she was going up and back on the hop scotch she was saying "hop, hop, hop, hop, hop, hop. I love the age she is at right now. She loves learning new things and is for the most part happy. I say mostly happy because of the independency kicking in. She thinks she is big enough to do everything all by herself.

First Pool Day of the Summer

Saturday June 26th was such a fun day! We went to Walmart and purchased a pool to sit on our back porch.
Kyah thought see was in Heaven. She spent all day around and in the pool. She had a hard time getting all the way in because we had just filled it with water and it was pretty cold! Of course Austin liked it also but he keeps telling me it is not big enough. When I asked him how big it would have to be for him to like it he told me it needed to be like Uncle Jason's pool(this pool will be on our blog after the 4th of July). Funny kid!!! If you look at the pics you can see he had a great time!
It has been between 90-93 degrees at our house this last week and with no air conditioner you can imagine how hot it is in our little apartment. Needless to say we have really enjoyed the pool this last week.
